WAYNAD Covered by Roadies(6-8th March)....

Who said biking adventures are not fun & just tiresome and boring?? …. For all those who believe this, its time to change your mind as we bring to you the Roadies Journey straight from them.

The destination was ‘Waynad’ which means land of paddy fields. Situated in north Kerala & lying close to the Sahya ranges this hilly district has almost one fourth of the total land area under forest with rich cultural traditions. It is also home to some of the oldest tribes in South India.

The Start: The Adventure started with 7 Roadies on 5 bikes. All properly geared for the journey with the luggage tied on their respective bikes. Departure was as expected, sharp at 1700hours from Bangalore. The plan was set to reach Mysore in max 5 hours but the Bangalore Traffic did create initial problems. It took almost 2 hours to hit the Bangalore-Mysore highway (SH17). Once on the highway the Machines cruised at speeds of not less than 100 Kmph. City by City the distance got covered & the halting destination (Mysore) came close. We crossed Ramnagaram, Channapatna & Mandya City on the route. With a few halts on the way we finally entered Mysore at 2230hours. The city was already asleep as we tried to find out a place to stay & satiate our hunger pangs. Finally we found a lodge to stay & had dinner there itself. After stuffing our stomachs it was time for some rest & wait for early morning to kick off again to reach the destination “Waynad”.

Day1: Next morning we woke up at 0400hours & departed for the final drive to the destination. The route this time was NH212 with roads completely empty early morning & the weather moderately cold making the perfect aura for the drive. Another 2hours drive and we could see the Sun rising as we headed further. We crossed the city of Nanjanguda on our way & took a halt for breakfast at a local restaurant in Gundalpet & stuffed ourselves with idli, vada & dosa before we took on the final stretch. From Gundalpet we drove through the Bandipur National Park on the same NH212 route. We halted there for some Wildlife Photography & meanwhile the machines got some rest before they were roared again. The route was awesome with smooth roads up and down & with lot of curves. Finally we reached Kalpatta (Waynad) at 1030hours where we had booked our Resort.

The Resort was situated on a hillock in a two acre lush green area with all facilities. It was time for all the Roadies to freshen up & gear for site seeing. We departed at 1130hours for our first sightseeing location, MeenMutty falls which was around 35kms from the resort. We had heavy lunch at a nearby restaurant before departing. The 35Km drive was an amazing experience in the panorama of undulating hills & dales. With plantations of coffee, tea & cardomom on either side the route was perfect for bikers.

The falls had an impressive height of 300metres with a 2Km strenuous down track to get to the falls. The track was muddy with small rocks on one side & hell on the other. Finally we managed the 2Km treacherous distance in an hour to reach the falls. It was an awesome view with the water falling from top. The cold water from the falls brought some respite & relaxed everyone before taking the arduous task of tracing the route back up. The way up was tougher and we halted several times before reaching the top. It was already evening & our next hot spot was Sun set Point which was 40Kms in the opposite direction. On our way back through the hills we captured the beauty of tea plantations in our cameras. The Sunset point had a breathe taking view of the valley towards Calicut also marking the beginning of the ghat section. We took a pretty good halt there with loads of photography on Sunset & monkeys around. Around 1900hours we decided to get back to the resort as the day ended. Back in the resort everyone relaxed with some spending hours under the shower & some stuck to TV in their rooms & still others fighting for the places to visit the next day. Day1 ended with a heavy dinner by everyone & finally falling into the bed. Woo wait …. One of the Roadie had his b’day next day which we all celebrated at midnight with a big cake & some good number of bumps for him before he could sleep.

Day2: All the Roadies woke up with the first morning light. Some of them went into the Swimming pool & others kept sleeping & dreaming. After a big fight last night the site seeing location decided for today was ‘Kuruva Island’. It was around 45Kms from the resort. We checked out from the resort at 1100hours and had heavy breakfast in the famous woodland restaurant nearby. The way to the island was horrible with the roads in extremely bad shape & with lot of potholes. Driving through the paddy fields on the way & lot of greenery around kept us going. We reached the Island around 1230hours. The island is spread across 950 acres with ever green forest and is located on the tributaries of eat flowing river Kabini. It’s an ideal picnic spot far away from the disturbances of city life. We waked a distance of around 2kms to reach the waters. On the way we saw rare species of birds, orchids & herbs. We captured everything we could into the camera. We relaxed in the flowing Kabini water for around an hour or so & then headed back to the origin.

It was 1600hours when we decided to head back to Bangalore. Everyone donned their gears & headed straight for the highway. The first 20Km drive was pathetic on the damaged roads. We had decided to drive through the Nagarhole National Park & join NH212 finally. But to our disappointment the road had been closed for 2 wheelers. So we finally took a route around the National park & reached Hunsur where we joined NH212. Now the route was straight & the brilliant roads of NH212 made the return journey much easier for all. We halted at a small dhaaba on the way for dinner & then kicked off for the final stretch. This time we skipped entering Mysore & took an outskirts route through Srirangapattam finally joining SH17 (Bangalore-Mysore highway). We reached Bangalore around 0030hours.

The Drive was long & tiring but the journey was as memorable as ever. Another Journey + Adventure finished for the Roadies & went into their books with loads of Fun. We’ll be back again… till then Keeping the Roadie Spirit Alive & I hope many of you have changed your mind on biking adventures. All D Best :)

ATD stars in SISO's Painting Contest :)

"Holi" , the festival of colors , just the thought of it and the whole world flashes red, green, yellow and blue before one's eyes. And what could be better if you get a chance to play with these colors and make everything colorful, just the way you wanted to. Thanks to Samskrti who gave the SISOites a chance to enjoy this beautiful festival in a unique way by organizing the painting contest. It started at 11am with lots of last moment entries from ATDians. When there is any event which involves challenge, fun and creativity ATDians are always "game" for it and this was no different. Before the ATD participants entered it was all serious business. But the whole atmosphere got transformed into a jovial one with ATDians occupying a corner of the "Banquet Hall" floor. Jokes were being cracked and there was laughter all around. Crayons, sketch pens, water colors and brushes were spread everywhere and most of the material had to be shared amongst the participants. While other divisions proceeded with the task seriously they wondered about the ATD participants who seemed like "just having fun" and their paintings were no less ,also depicting the same "bindaas" attitude. Brijesh started making "A B C D", Vaishali started painting circles directly, Devendra sketched two faces on the sheet, Ritesh started drawing Krishna and Radha, Hema made a winking sun, nobody understood what Surya was trying to make and Vasu was painting in his own creative mood.

As time slipped by, paintings started taking shape. Some of the ideas which were looking vague got more refined and meaningful. Brijesh completed his "A B C D" , Ritesh's "Radha Krishna" were looking better and a "Kamadhenu" also appeared, Vaishali's circles started merging into each other, Hema sprinkled some more color on her painting, few Holi-playing hands appeared on Surya's painting and Debu's painting got more colorful. While ATDians were totally engrossed in their dream world, few more dropped in just to see the paintings. Kiran, Sreekanth and Babitha came after half of the time was already over and they couldn't resist trying their hands at it. They picked up the drawing sheets, borrowed colors from fellow ATDians and started coloring in fully cheerful mood.

As the time approached for finishing the paintings, everybody hurried to complete their piece of art. But there was a different scene amongst ATDians, they were helping fellow ATDians whose paintings were better than theirs' and had the chance of winning a prize. Everybody around Surya was passing on colors to him along with suggestions "paint the balloons in this color.hey use this for hands.". Most of ATDians could finish in time. Debu had nicely depicted a "Guy n girl" playing holi with colors around them, Ritesh's "Krishna, Radha and Kamadhenu" were all ready, Vaishali's circles had taken the shape of a beautiful meditation chart, Hema's painting got more bright as it got more color sprinkled, Sreekanth's moon was shouting "Mujhe bhi holi khelna hai" , Brijesh's "A B C D" was transformed into a school going child in holi celebration , Vasu's painting was a unique one saying "when nature celebrates holi, colors differ..", Babitha had painted the recently visited "Skandgiri hill" , Surya had painted "hands playing Holi", Swapna rushed and finished her beautiful painting of two ladies sitting in colorful traditional dresses (she was coloring in unusual style using her hands instead of using painting brush) and there was Kiran's amusing painting depicting his dream girl with her hair flowing all around J .

The time was up and it was creativity at its best by ATDians, Everybody was waiting eagerly for the results and there U go .....it was ATD all over again bagging maximum number of prizes. Surya's painting got second prize, third prize to Vasu and there was a lot of appreciation for the paintings by Vaishali and Debu. The paintings were appreciated for their uniqueness and creativity. Truly when ATD participates "Style is different". We are the toughest as well as the coolest. Congratulations ..We rock!!!

Badminton - a Virtual Tour of ATD's Winning Streak

As it is Said "Winning is Not Everything, but the Effort to Win Is." And Who can better explain how it Feels when that Effort gets paid Off ??.......Only the Ones who WIN....

All Those Badminton Lovers out there. Its time to witness the Clash of the Titans..Well this time it won't be the Hot Favorites or rather World Favorites Peter Gade, Lin Dan or Ning Zhang but Would be our Own ATDians. One of the greatest Victories of ATD against all Divisions in SISO, which finished last weekend. It was the Fight between the Best, the Strongest & the Toughest ........
So Ladies and Gentlemen Lets take a virtual tour of how it went, especially for those who Missed the Action Live. The Event started with a Big Bang having 80 odd participants from 6 Division who came out in the Center to fight it out and Win it for their Divisions. The Journey till Semi-Finals was pretty easy for the Team ATD (Anupam/Santosh) & same was the case with the Women's Event (Vaishali-ATD). This time it was not a matter of Winning for ATDians but Time for Defending the Title.... Crucial time to retain the Glory of last year & send out a Message to All..
"Hey u dare not Touch that Title .Its OURs".

The Matches were conducted as a Team Event comprising of a Singles, Doubles and Reverse Singles. The Team which wins 2 out of these 3 Goes Ahead. But it's not that easy as it seems coz to Win Even one of these Matches the Opponents had to play Best of 3 Games. So Lets Start The Amazing Badminton Tour of ATD......

The Semi Final Was against DPD (Dhirendra/Antony). a strong team to play against. As Santosh decided to play the first singles he went on the court with fresh Stamina and with One eye on the Final Goal "ATD Glory". The Singles began with both the players (Santosh & Dhirendra) playing some wonderful shots, Smashing the Shuttle hard along with some deceiving experiments. Santosh won the First game with ease. A big Blow for DPD fans cheering outside. Now if DPD had to come back into the Game to win the Singles, they had to Win the other 2 games Straight & clear. With a small break the Second Singles game started. This Time with a relaxed mind and some wristy Shots Dhirendra was back in action as he took a big lead to win the Second one. But the Game's not over .. This was not enough...He needed to win the Third one too. Both the players were exhausted completely. They had put in all their efforts, all the Stamina, all the strength. Now the person, who kept his cool, changed his Strategy and Exploits the others Weakness wins it. And this is what happened as Santosh Won the Third Singles to Clinch the First singles for ATD. With the singles over in the Team Event it was time now for some Doubles Action. Doubles??......... Yes. a Game Faster than the Singles, A Game in which the Shuttle gets ruthlessly killed & A Game where D players have to be Best with their Coordination without which, U can be Sure to Lose It All. The Doubles came out to be an easy one for the ATDians(Santosh/Anupam) as they sweeped both the initial double's games (best of 3) making a place in D Finals and sending the DPDians back Home, thwarting their Hopes.

With Smiles all around on the faces of ATDian Fans out there. the Joy was Immense having Registered themselves in the Finals but Back of everyone's mind was one big Question "Will they be able to. having played already and with half the Stamina?? " ..It was time now for ATDians to Relax before the Big Game which everyone was waiting 4.. for Long. D GRAND FINAL's.

The Final's started with Women's Event and the Finalist being Vaishali (ATD) & Surekha (TND). Having proved their toughness in the League matches, Quarter Final's and Semi's these 2 had finally emerged out of their respective Pools to Test it out again...Infact Test Each other One on One..to Find out who is the Best.. D King of the Court...Who Rules D 44*20 ft Place.
It was a Best of 3 Singles Match to decide this. The First Singles began with some lazy movement by the Ladies on the court... Unwilling to move from their Places & Stretch out to reach for the shuttle. Once the reply goes past from the opponent the players were seen just standing and watching the shuttle fall .as if Both Making a Wish watching a Shooting Star. Still the Fans cheering their respective Divisions Coz what mattered was the End Result for All. After some 10 points or so people could see the ladies move and cover the court. With ATD in the lead, The TND fans were on their toes to motivate their player, Pushing her hard from outside. But it was too late as the first singles was taken away by Vaishali (ATD) by 21-14. To Win the Women's Championship and to Rule the court for the year, Surekha (TND) had no option but to win the other 2 games left. But with Vaishali already having won the First singles was in High spirits. Taking the Advantage of the Situation and hitting the Shuttle at the Right places and Corners of the Court she won the Second Singles too by 21-13..to Win the Women's Championship for ATD. J J ....

ATD already having Won the Women's title the Onus was know on the Men's (Anupam/Santosh) to fight Hard for the Men's Team Event Championship. It was not gonna be Easy for the 2 against WTD (Nagi/Sameer) their Opponents for the Finals. WTD being fresh on their stamina and this being their Only Match for the Day they had every Possibility of winning it and they were offcourse the Top Favourites to win it. All ATD fans and players in Tension ..but amidst this A Big Surprise for ATDians..Everybody turned their Heads to See Someone arriving into the Arena..And Who it could be ??? None other Than Dr. Raghu himself to cheer the Players and Boost his team to Win it. J J With Energy back into the ATD Players and ATD fans cheering hard, the match started with the First Singles to be Played between Anupam (ATD) & Nagi (WTD).

The Players Entered the Arena with Strategies working in their Minds, Fury in their Eyes, Ready to Sweat it out, Show their Endurace & Skills. The Game Started With the Shuttle bearing the brunt of the players Strength & Anger. The Game was going pretty close with Scores almost level. No one ready to Give the game away.as it went on to ..18All... With Silence all around and people watching with bated breath . only thing Audible at that time was the Shuttle getting Smashed with the feathers leaving their ground till it could no longer be Used. Scores going as .... 19All....20All.....21All.....22All.......23All.....24All....25All............
The Game could go anywhere, anyside as the Players unwilling to Give up or make any Unforced errors. But the Final Shot from Anupam (ATD) ......as it landed just outside the Boundary line & the Lines man calling it Away... A shock and disheartening for ATD fans as the Game went to WTD. winning it by 27-25. Now ..the Game would go Tougher for Anupam, if he had to win it, he had to win the rest 2 games. Without any Rest the Players started with the Second singles. It was pretty unusual but Nagi (WTD) took a big Initial lead which was impossible to catch up. With Anupam hardly making any Attempts to compete it seemed he had lost Stamina completely and He lost the Second Game Easily to Nagi (WTD) by 21-7.

A Silence atmosphere in the ATD crowd, Their faces down but still trying to cheer the players and boosting them. ATD had no other option now to Win the Doubles and the Reverse singles. As the Doubles started Anupam/Santosh (ATD) had made up their minds. It was a Do or Die Situation and They Decided to DO it ... Killing the Shuttle hard, putting all their strengths behind their game, whatever Stamina they had...Without any unforced errors . They clinched the Doubles From WTD (21-10, 21-6) to get back into the Quest for the CHAMPIONSHIP taking the Match to a decider..i.e Reverse singles. Nobody had thought the Finals would become So Tight as WTD were the favourites from the start. Now it was on Santosh (ATD) and Sameer (WTD) to fight it out for their divisions.
The Reverse singles started with Santosh having difficulties in moving around and playing his natural Game. Fighting hard to overcome his weakness (stamina) having played many matches, he lost the first Singles by 21-18. All ATDians de-spirited by this initial loss and Watching Santosh lose his Stamina and energy it became even more Tense out there. The Second singles started with everybody having fingers crossed. Santosh had to Fight and he did fight hard enough to pull the Second one Taking a big lead and winning it by 21-15. Now the Match Went into the Deadly Decider Game.3rd of the Reverse Singles. One who WINS it makes it 4 himself and His Division too. With both the players getting loads of Boosting and Strategic inputs from their partners ... finally entered the Court once and for All to Decide it Last...This time its "Aar Ya Paar" ... The Game started with Lots of unforced Errors from both the players, both being Horribly Tired, their legs had refused to move, cramps everywhere.. but still they had to fight. Somebody had to play his Natural game....... Take advantage of the others Tiredness with his skill ..... or change his Strategy for last.. With the scores leveled at 18 All. the Championship could have gone to Anyside....But Giving himself A Big Boost Santosh Hit 2 Die Hard Smashes pulling the 2 points into his pool and leaving Sameer(WTD) diving around to catch those. Score now 20-18... & Championship Point For Santosh .. The Goal was just 1 Point from him.... Just 1 Point...& he Served.. a Deadly silence prevailed Everywhere as the Shuttle went high in the air from Sameer's Reply...Everybody with their fist closed..trying to Put energy into Santosh's shot, trying to Transfer their Stamina to him..... And He Smashedddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd..............Smasheddddddd as hard as he could .... Taking the last point and Clinching the Championship for ATD........WOooooHOooooooooooooo......... ATD had won .... the Title had been Defended......... Everybody came Rushing on the Court... Smiling faces All around .. D Players & Teams Congratulating each other..... J J ..

"Nothing Succeeds like the Appearance of Success". And this could be easily Seen on the Faces of ATDians that Day. Congratulations To All who Participated and Won....... Keep the Winning Streak Going...... Still a Long way to Go .. J

JOURNEY OF SISO ROADIES v2.0

With Roadies 1.0’s Success and Adventure …We bring you another Thrilling adventure done by SISO ROADIES on 22nd March ….. Yes
SISO ROADIES Version 2.0 …..
This time the Adventure had more of a meaning…Required more Strength, Demanded more toughness & Mental Fitness from the Roadies. Since there is no shortcut to Success & No Gains without Pains … D Adventure had to Go Beyond Everyone’s imagination. This Time D count was 12 as compared to last version’s 14 probably because of the Timing of the Adventure, as it was to be held at Night. Anyhow those who missed it… Would definitely regret it once they are thru with this Description. So Guys & Gals please fasten your seat belt as we take you thru the Thrilling Adventure Virtually.

The Plan was all set, 13 people were ready for the final take off which had to start at 9:30pm on 22nd March. But not everything goes as per D planning and nothing’s Straight and Easy with each version of Roadies. A final Setback for all came as a Backout from one of the Roadie which was a shock for many. Anyhow there was no looking back at this point as the preparations were all done. Everybody, who was IN for the Adventure had packed their Bags with all the Necessities, from Eatables to Medicines, Gallons of water to Emergency requirements & Clothing to Cameras….. All Boarded the Flight which had seating arrangement for all 12 and departed at 11pm …Slightly behind D Schedule as decided. The Masti started as usual with some Big PJ’s and Roadies Bakwaas which everybody had become used too & some of the ears had gone so immune to it that they didn’t even bother to Respond. Anyhow the next Big time pass was Dumb Sharaz which did help all to forget worrying about the Route, as everyone thought the Pilot is pretty intelligent to find it out. But as the time was slipping by the TimePass Stopped and everyone became Serious having not found the Route to the place we actually had to Land. The Flight kept Circling around as there was no Signal on which route to take and No ATC (Air Traffic Controller) to help. With anyone Hardly able to decode what was written in the form of Jalebi’s on the Route board on the Road sides the Flight had to Halt to take help from a Police Constable …. Finally some respite for all as we Could read what was written on one of the boards…Everyone realized, They are Literate J hahaha

…YooHoooo …. We reached the point & It was already 1am (morning) at that point… …. And all stepped out of the Flight to just have a view of the LAKSHYA …… Standing tall almost 600feet above the ground…… But obvious it was not going to be a rope climbing stuff…. We had to take a Simple flat Path may be round about to reach the Top. Everyone Loaded their shoulders with Bags stuffed with Food and others items. The Actual Journey was starting now as we left our flight behind and now was the time for Testing out Legs. Hardly 50 metres and we found ourselves lost in the Bushes….Moving the Thorny, Prickly bushes behind we moved Forward to Realize we had taken the Wrong Turn. At that Moment everyone thought of bringing on a Guide for help but Suddenly the Idea took a Backseat as we found a Route. A Roadie never takes help outside its Own Team, that’s what it should be & that it was. Some got scratches on face & hands due to the Bushes…but nothing could De-spirit the Roadies. The Journey went On ... But again within 100 metres a Shock for everyone as one of the Roadie went Blackout…Shouting the words “I cannot see” … and this got everyone scared for a while. The Trekks just started…we have not reached our Lakshya…Fear of the Journey ending at that point came to many. But with some 10 minutes of Rest the Roadie was found standing High …Determined to make It to the Top. As the Roadies moved on, the Terrain became more Dangerous, Tougher to Climb and more Strenuous for the body. Taking halts at every 100 metres became Ususal. But with Time slipping out there was no other Way but to reach the Top before it is Sunrise. Every 10 minutes we could hear some or the other Questioning … and the Question was obvious to be “How much more Is it?? ……. How far is it now?? “ … But no Answers to this Question as no one actually knew. The Higher we went the Tougher it became… and Dangerous to even look back for those having Altophobia. But it was hard to resist capturing the Scenic beauty and that too under Moonlight.

To our Surprise we actually had a 13th Roadie Joining us and Leading from the front. He Stopped where we did, Leaded where required and Supported whatever he could. We named him Manikchand…..But this Roadie couldn’t speak…. Only could wag his Tail to indicate something…as it was a Dog…. J J J …. Some 200 metres were left when the Mist came into picture…. D visibility dropped to hardly a few meters and the Torches became useless. This was the time when 3 Roadies unknowingly took a Different Track and the group split into 2. Other 9 infact 10 including the 13th one went ahead with no Sounds Audible from their end. Those 3 Roadies got Trapped as the Route came to a Dead End…..It took them Sometime to Finally find a way out and that was to Climb a 6 feet Wall. With some extra effort they succeeded in Bypassing the wall. With some more Trek ahead they found the other 9 Roadies and D Group was again complete of 12 in all. The final 100 metres went in a Flash with Anxiety of being near to the Top and everyone put some extra effort, pushed a bit more hard to finally reach their LAKSHYA. The Roadies conquered the Top but it took them around 4 hours. The feeling’s could not be expressed in words, D joy & Happiness bubbling out.

The High Speed Winds didn’t allow us to Stand for long at the Top as we all decided to Sit on the Peak. With the Wind becoming more chilly and Fierce it was looking as if the Wind Had decided to bring on some damage to the Roadies. But a Roadie spirit is tough to Break and we all Decided to Stuff something into our stomachs after the hard trek up…It also surved the purpose of counteracting the Chilly Wind blowing at around 70kmph. We had time in hand before the Sun could actually come out of the Horizon doors. We utilized this time by playing Antakshari. Slowly the Atmoshpere started clearing… the Mist & Clouds Disappearing and we could see Everyones Face anxiously waiting for the Sunrise. The Wait had to be long as it was a Cloudy Night and we were not sure to be able to see What we Wanted. The waiting time was utilized in Preparation’s for Breakfast & Tea …….The Chilly Winds had affected everyone and Chai at this moment would bring back some Energy Lost by the Roadies. But before the Chai could be prepared the Fire had to be lit. With some extra effort finding Dry Wood Pieces the Fire finally came up and the Tea preparation started.

At this point everyone realized that the Sunrise won’t be visible as the clouds were not allowing the Sun to show his Face. Slightly dispirited by this fact, the Roadies awaited atleast the Chai to come up. It was almost 20 minutes as the Chai didn’t boil … But the Chai also had different plans (Naam nahi le rahi thi Boil hone ka) ….. ….Besharam Chai finally came up but took almost 30 mintues to boil. All Roadies finally had some Breakfast and Chai….a Big Energy booster to all… After all this it was time for taking Photo’s and we Discovered lot of people around. On our Way up we had noticed people going but their faces were not visible. It was a big surprise and a Question for many as to “How did some Ladies wearing Sarees Climb up the Hill??” …D Question still remains unanswered as no replies came for it. Anyhow we took lot of Photo’s on the peak, explored all the area around D top. Not a single Length and Breadth was left undiscovered. Almost 9 am in our watches and we knew it was time to bid Adieu to the Peak and start our journey back. The worst thing to happen was the Rain which started, though almost like a drizzle but it did make the Path slippery and Dangerous for the Roadies…..dangerous for the fact that incase anyone slips he would either reach the starting point the fastest ever (World Record for entry in Guinness Book) or would take his last Journey of Life. But Thank God no Casualties happened. Only a single Casualty occurred….it was not a Casualty infact but just that 11 Roadies had to wait for a Roadie whose Stamina gave up finally. Anyhow the Arrangements for Emergency were taken care by one of the fellow Roadie. Once relieved the Roadie was back and the Journey continued…This was the time we could Actually see what Route we had taken & what all we had Missed …the Landscapes, Breathtaking Views, Mountains and the Beauty of Nature around. So we took lott of halts on the way back as well to capture loads of memories …in our Mind + the Camera as an Assistant.

Everyone was Happy inside but no one could actually show it Outside except while taking Photos because most of the Roadies were Tired due to lack of Sleep whole night. But there was One Roadie who had a constant Smile all along the Journey, So happy, Bubbling with Joy… It was looking as if that Roadie had been a Fugitive on that Peak for a long time and the remaining 11 had come for Rescue. J J J. No one had any idea or Reason behind it but Everyone kept moving ahead …….one with a Broad smile on Face & remaining 11 with a smwhat small, normal face. Happy Inside….Abnormal Outside ……….The Smiling Roadie was trekking so Confidently as if the route was a Skating ground. With hands inside the Jacket and without support from Anyone this Roadie wanted to reach the Bottom ahead of anyone else. But in doing so the Roadie did Fall lot many times… the effect was ZERO… still smiling … hands back inside the Jacket…..and then came the final Demo ….. 3D Summer Sault from that Roadie…. One of a kind which even International swimmers cannot attempt to do ……. J J …… But no effect again … back on foot…smile on face…….hands back in Jacket Again…….and Bade chalo …… “Nanha munna rahi hoon ………..bolo mere sang Jai skandgiri….Jai skandgiri” ……….

All Roadies reached the bottom around 10:30 am…pretty early …Thanks to the Smiling Roadie…. J J …. We took some final Photos … Group photos indicating the Success …. ATD @ COPA DEL SISO'08

Good Morning ALL,
Did anyone ever say “Success comes Cheap”… Infact no one even said you can buy it in the first place. Well we know “Success never comes cheap and easy” and the real example of this was the ATD football team who risked their legs this weekend to get it all for ATD. So Guys & Gals, Ladies & Gentlemen if you find anyone limping around or having a tanned face you can be sure to have spotted someone who did put everything for his team this weekend. A team which went out with full enthu and determination on the field finally landed 3rd on the winning post. Here’s a Recap & Deferred Live briefing on how it went. The Team played the highest number of matches in the tournament i.e. 6 which no other team infact had to play. The Quest began at Day-1 with the league matches and the first match against Support division. As the match started, the play was becoming deadly minute by minute and the teams finding it tough to score against each other till…….. Till Support finally scored one to grab the match from the Teams hands by 1-0. Having already lost one the Team couldn’t afford to lose the next one against DPD2. The Team went on with a different game plan in mind this time & with some excellent skills came out victorious and to add more to it, won it by a huge margin of 5-0. So far so good, still a long way to go coz to get a place in the Quarters the Team had to play another one against WTD2. Having lost all the energy under the intense heat of the Sun the team still managed to win this one again by 3-0.A formidable win without having conceded a single goal. Having ended Day-1 on a good note the Team was back on Day-2 with fresh energy and legs to play against MSD. This one was crucial for both as who ever won would register themselves in the Semi’s. The Team fought hard with some cool Tricks and Tackles to finally take the match away from MSD by 2-0. The Team was excited, the Enthu was bubbling and the Team replenished themselves with energy for the tough match coming ahead against WTD1 in the Semi Finals. The match began with a big shock as the opponents (WTD) scored 2 early goals within first 5 minutes and the Team was helpless. Again a change of Plan, a different Strategy all together helped the Team recover to finally make it 2-2 before the final whistle blew to take the decision to Penalty Shootouts. Everybody had their fingers crossed as the deciding penalties were being taken. But luck and pluck goes hand in hand and the team just missed it by one shoot to lose it by 3-2. Though the team was disappointed but still had to fight for the Second Final’s to at least place themselves for the Bronze. The match was against SLD and the Team did put everything they had into the match to win. Though the Team scored an Early goal to ease the pressure but the opponents didn’t give up till they scored the equalizer in the last 2 minutes to drag the match again into the Penalty Shootout decider. Once Bitten and lost in Penalties the Team had to score all 3 this time with no unforced errors at this crucial juncture. The Shootouts began one after the other and the Team was leading having scored on both shootouts and the opponents had just scored one out of their 2. The score 2-1, the atmosphere tense, with silence in the background and everybody eyeing the football when the final deciding kick had to be taken by SLD (their 3rd and final attempt). Everybody on their toes, hands held together, praying to Allah when the Kick was taken …… & here he wenttttt ………. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO ……. he missed …… The Team had won, Jumping in Joy all over with broad smiles on their faces. Their was nothing else which could have satisfied the Team ATD, as their hard put in effort paid off in the end & It was PARTY time. With all the Strategy, Game plans, Tricks & Comments on the field like “I’ll kill this guy next time he kicks his elbow into mine” plus some censored ones the Copa Del SISO’08 went well and ended on a good note for ATD ……….. Kudos to the ATD Team …………… CONGRATS ……… Keep it Going!!! ……
